The maintenance of water-based digital inkjet printers focuses on printhead protection, ink supply system stability, and general machine cleanliness. The printhead is a critical precision component that must be protected against ink drying and clogging. Routine procedures before daily shutdown typically include automatic cleaning or nozzle checks; for prolonged periods of inactivity, the system should be sealed using a specialized moisturizing solution to minimize the risk of nozzle clogs and performance degradation.

 

Maintenance of the ink supply system is equally important. Ink cartridges, tubing, and filtration units require regular inspection to prevent air ingress or impurity accumulation that could impair ink flow. Filters should be replaced according to the recommended schedule, and ink supply pressure must be maintained within a stable range to avoid issues such as ink starvation, ink misting, or uneven color. For continuous production equipment, the operation of the ink circulation system must also be monitored to ensure optimal ink flow.

 

At the machine level, guide rails, drive systems, and motors require regular lubrication and cleaning to maintain motion precision. Additionally, the operating environment should be kept clean and stable to prevent dust, humidity fluctuations, or static electricity from compromising print quality. Operators should also perform periodic calibration tests-such as printhead alignment and color correction-to ensure consistent and stable output over the long term.
