One of the core components of a water-based digital inkjet printer is the printhead, which serves as the "output unit" of the entire system. Internally, the printhead typically comprises hundreds to thousands of microscopic nozzles that precisely eject ink onto the media surface in the form of tiny droplets. While different printhead technologies-such as piezoelectric or thermal inkjet-offer distinct characteristics regarding response speed, droplet control precision, and durability, they all share the common goal of achieving high resolution and stable output.

 

The ink supply system is another critical component, responsible for the storage, transport, and steady delivery of ink. Given the stringent requirements for ink fluidity and purity, the system typically incorporates ink reservoirs, negative pressure regulators, filtration units, and circulation lines to prevent issues such as air bubbles, sedimentation, or nozzle clogging. The stability of the ink supply directly impacts printing continuity and image consistency.

 

The control system and the motion mechanism jointly determine the machine's overall precision and efficiency. The control system interprets image data and converts it into inkjet commands while coordinating printhead actuation and platform movement; the motion mechanism-comprising guide rails, motors, and transmission components-ensures the high-precision movement of either the printhead or the printing platform. The tighter the integration between these two systems, the better the balance achieved between high-speed printing and the faithful reproduction of fine details.
